Jennifer H. Stover, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, CSC, RYT

Dr. Jennifer Hatchett Stover is a Licensed Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified Counselor, Certified School Counselor, and Registered Yoga Teacher. She received a bachelor’s degree in criminal justice and a master’s degree in teaching education from Texas Woman’s University. Additionally, she received a master’s degree in counseling from Prairie View A&M University and earned her doctorate in counselor education and supervision from Sam Houston State University. Jennifer has served in public education for more than 17 years and has experience supporting the mental health and crisis needs of students and families. She also has experience as a clinician and specializes in working with adolescents and young adults, with an emphasis on trauma, behavior, and multicultural issues. Jennifer is a published author, focusing on positive and inclusive practices for children in the educational setting. She is dedicated to serving her community, sharing knowledge and tools to empower healing, wellness, and success for others. 

Meet our team

Llaneika Baines, supervised by April A. West, LPC-S, is a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate and Certified School Counselor who is passionate about helping adolescents navigate the challenges of growing up with confidence, resilience, and hope. She specializes in working with teens facing emotional, social, or academic difficulties. Her therapeutic approach is warm, collaborative, and grounded in Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and Person-Centered Techniques.

With over a decade of experience supporting individuals across the lifespan-from young children learning to manage big emotions to adults seeking clarity and healing-Llaneika is committed to creating a safe and supportive space for personal growth. Whether through one on one counseling or small group support, she helps clients explore their thoughts, build emotional regulation skills, and reconnect with their strengths.

Erie Benson is a graduate student intern in the Marriage, Couples & Family Counseling Program at Lamar University, working under the clinical supervision of Dr. Jennifer Hatchett Stover, PhD, LPC-S, NCC, CSC, RYT, as she works toward her LMFT licensure. She enjoys supporting adolescents, emerging adults, couples, and families as they navigate anxiety, depression, identity development, relationship challenges, and life transitions.

Her work is grounded in family systems and developmental perspectives, and she believes healing happens through connection, understanding, and collaboration. When working with couples and families, she integrates attachment-based and emotionally focused approaches, along with practical communication and conflict-resolution tools, to help clients strengthen relationships, build trust, and feel more connected.

Erie strives to create a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard and empowered to grow, build resilience, and move toward healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
